Geonwolleung, the royal burial mound of King Taejo, who reigned from 1392 to 1398, the founding monarch of the Joseon dynasty, at Donggureung. He was a great general of the preceding Goryeo dynasty (918-1392) and founded a new state in Gaegyeong (present day Kaesong, North Korea) in 1392; relocating the capital to Hanyang (present day Seoul) in 1394, naming the state Joseon.
