Naksan Temple, Gangwon Province

Virupaksa and Vaishravana

The Gate of the Four Heavenly Kings in the Naksansa temple complex is dedicated to the four heavenly kings in charge of protecting the Buddha-Dharma, guarding the temple and helping the fourfold assembly. In the west stands Virupaksa (He who sees all) holding a dragon and in the north Vaishravana (He who hears everything) holding a spear and a pagoda.
