Hwaeomsa Temple, South Jeolla Province

At Daeungjeon Hall

Hwaeomsa's main hall is Daeungjeon, the oldest wooden structure at the temple, built in 1636 by Seon Master Byeogam Gakseong. It marked the first stage of Hwaeomsa's restoration after the Japanese invasion of the 1590s, when it was totally burned down.
