Hwangap celebration

Display of Hwangap, the celebration when a person turns 60, in the Folklore and Natural History Museum in Sinsan Park in Jeju, on the island with the same name. The number 60 means accomplishing one big circle in the traditional 60 year calendar cycle of the lunar calendar and starting another one in one's life. Traditionally the children would organise a big party with lots of food, arranged in a table set called Gobaesang.
