Sicily, the Mediterranean’s largest island

Roman floor mosaic

One of the floor mosaics in Villa Romana del Casale (or Villa Rumana dû Casali in Sicilian), a Roman villa built in the first quarter of the 4th century and located about 5 kilometres outside the town of Piazza Armerina. It contains the richest, largest and most complex collection of Roman mosaics in the world.
