In Monreale Cathedral

The interior of the magnificent 12th century Norman cathedral, built for King William II in Monreale, about 8 kilometres south-west of Palermo. The interior is completely covered by magnificent gilded mosaics, the world of Byzantine artists. A mosaic of Jesus Christ towers over the altar.
