Republic of Ethiopia, 1974

Ethiopia's State flag of green-yellow-red with the imperial lion was modified after the overthrow of Emperor Haile Selassie I by the military on 12 September 1974, by removing the crown from the lion's head and changing the Cross finial to a spear point.
