Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital

Lion of Judah Monument

The Lion of Judah Monument, a bronze statue of the Lion of Judah, symbolising the Imperial dynasty, on a black granite pedestal in the forecourt of the railway station at one end of Churchill Road; the Municipality, Addis Ababa City Hall, is at the other end. It was erected in 1930 just before Emperor Haile Selassie's coronation, looted by the Italians in 1935 and only returned in 1960.
