Panagia (Monastery) of Kykkos

Inner courtyard in the Panagia (Monastery), the Holy Monastery of the Virgin of Kykkos. It was founded by the Byzantine emperor Alexios I Komnenos around the end of the 11th century. The first President of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios III, started his ecclesiastical career here as a monk in 1926.
