Agios Georgios boat, Chloraka

The Agios Georgios boat, that was used to import ammunition for the EOKA Liberation Struggle in 1955-59, displayed in its museum at the site in Chloraka where General Georgios Grivas disembarked in the night of 10 November 1954. The boat was captured by the British on 25 January 1955 while carrying weapons and ammunition. The crew of the vessel (5 Greeks from Greece) and the first group of EOKA fighters, 8 Greek Cypriots from Chloraka who went to help unload were arrested and sent to jail for several years.
