Cathedral of Saint Nicholas

The former Saint Nicholas Cathedral, constructed between 1298 and 1312 and consecrated as a Roman Catholic cathedral in 1328. In 1571, after the Ottoman Empire captured Famagusta, it was converted into a mosque. Since 1954 it is called the Lala Mustafa Paşa Camii: Lala Mustafa Pasha was the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire, who led Ottoman forces against the Venetians in Cyprus.
