Larnaca, on the south-east coast of Cyprus
The Larnaca District Administration building on Plateia Europis, Europe Square. In front is a statue of Zenon (352-255 BCE), the famous stoic philosopher Zeno of Kition (Citium) who hailed from this city. He laid the foundations of the Stoic school of Philosophy and was one of the first to segregate Philosophy into physics, logic and ethics. It is said he began his stoic teaching after losing everything he had in a shipwreck.
