Historical sites around Kyrenia
In the church of Bellapais Abbey, dating to the 13th century; it borders the courtyard and is the best-preserved part of the complex. The church consists of a nave with two side aisles, a choir and a sacristy. The surviving decorations include an intricately carved pulpit, the bishop’s throne, and five chandeliers. The graves of several Lusignan kings may rest beneath the floor of the church.
