Historical sites around Kyrenia
The Church of Christ Antiphonitis in the mountains near the village of Bahçeli (Kalograia), 6 kilometres south-east of Esentepe (Agios Amvrosios). It was constructed in the twelfth century and initially belonged to a Greek Orthodox monastery. It consists of a single building with a spacious dome carried on eight pillars and is the only surviving example of this type in Cyprus. It is now a museum.
