Camagüey, Cuba’s third-largest city
The Iglesia Santo Cristo del Buen Viaje, on Plaza Cristo, built in the beginning of the 19th century; in the decade of 1840 a side tower and nave were constructed. During the War of the Ten Years it was used as military barracks by Spanish troops. On its grounds is the General Cemetery of Port-au-Prince, inaugurated in 1814, the only church in Cuba with a cemetery in its courtyard.
