La Paz, Bolivia's administrative capital

Women marching

Aymara women marching during a political demonstration in El Alto, above La Paz. The bowler hat, called “bombin” in Peru and Bolivia, has been worn by Quechua and Aymara women since the 1920s, when it was introduced to Bolivia by British railway workers.
