Copacabana, on the shores of Lake Titicaca

The Horca del Inca (“Inca Gallows”), actually a trilithic structure used for astronomical purposes by the pre-Incan Chiripa people, built in the 14th century. There used to be seven horizontal rock slabs in precise positions that would enable observation of the heavenly bodies. It was largely destroyed by the Spanish and only one crosspiece is left today.
