Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Central Australia

Liru and Kuniya site, Uluru

The site on the south side of Uluru, associated with the myth of the poisonous snakes, Liru, from Kata Tjuta and their unprovoked attack on the harmless carpet-snakes, Kuniya. The two long fissures on the rock indicate the cuts made by the Kuniya man on the leg of his Liru opponent.
