Approaching Boigu

The township on flat Boigu Island, approaching from the 4 kilometre strait, separating it from Papua New Guinea. It is the northernmost settlement of Australia and has about 260 people. Like its neighbour Saibai, Boigu is mainly mangroves and mudflats.
