Aboriginal Marndiwala Initiation Ceremonies in Borroloola
Young Yanyuwa boys, “daru” or initiates, sit in their boughshelter in Borroloola. They are brandishing “boomerangs” made of bark that they throw at men who then will have to dance for them at their ceremony.
