New South Wales, 1870

On 20 April 1870 the Crown Colony of New South Wales flag changed when the Governor adopted a badge representing the Southern Cross in gold with stars ranging from five to nine points, each star with one point pointing to the bottom of the flag and an imperial crown above the Southern Cross.
