Aboriginal Initiation Ceremonies from Northern Australia

Small initiates

Two seven years old boys ready for the “Mandiwala” initiation ceremony that will culminate in their circumcision. They carry small spears and may also throw small boomerangs at men that should dance in their ceremony, held in Numbulwar, on the western Gulf of Carpentaria.
