Muradi Mosque

The Muradie Mosque (Xhamia e Muradies), originally a Byzantine Church, as evident from its architecture, with its arched windows and brickworks. It was probably built between the 11th and 13th Century and made into a mosque in 1537, when the region had fallen under Ottoman control and a minaret was added. That work has been attributed to Sinan Pasha, one of the greatest (Albanian born) Ottoman architects.
