Mukhammad Amin-khan Madrasah

The Madrasah of Mukhammad Amin-khan, the largest madrasah in Central Asia. The two-storied building occupies the area of 72 to 60 metres and has 125 khudjras (cells), intended for 260 students. It was built in 1851-1854 on order of the Khiva ruler Muhammad Amin-khan in Ichon Qala, the walled inner city of Khiva. It now houses the Hotel Orient Star.
