The flags of the CARICOM (Caribbean Community) countries flying on the Onafhankelijkheidsplein (Independence Square) in Paramaribo. Established in 1973, CARICOM is an organisation of fifteen Caribbean nations and dependencies, promoting economic integration and cooperation among its members, ensuring that the benefits of integration are equitably shared, and to coordinate foreign policy. Its headquarters is based in Georgetown, Guyana. In the background the tower of the Ministry of Finance building.
