Tanintharyi Region

Tanintharyi Region, formerly Tenasserim and Tanintharyi Division, covers the long narrow southern part of the country on the Kra Isthmus, bordering the Andaman Sea and Thailand. It covers an area of 43,328 km² and has an estimated population of over 1.5 million. The capital of the division is Dawei (Tavoy). Its flag is simply dark blue with, in dark yellow, the name if the region, “Thaninthayitain”.
