Imperial Map Monument

The Great Imperial Map Monument, built in 2004 on a hill overlooking the town of Kharkhorin on one side and the Orkhon river valley on the other. The three sides have maps depicting various empires that were established on the shore of the Orkhon river, and has an “ovoo”, a type of shamanistic cairn made from rocks, in the centre.
