Migjid Janraisig Süm

Migjid Janraisig Süm, the Tibetan style temple of the Boddhisattva Avalokiteshvara, the principal building of Gandantegchinlen (Gandan) Monastery. It was established in 1835 by the Fifth Jebtsundamba, then Mongolia's highest reincarnated lama and became the principal centre of Buddhist learning in Mongolia. The Tibetan name translates to the “Great Place of Complete Joy”.
