Deer stones carving

Detail of carving on “deer stones”, carved standing stones within an emplacement of sacrificial mounds (“khereksuur”) at Uushigiin Övör, 20 kilometres west of Mörön. These 14 ritualistic deer stones date to the mid-Bronze Age, between 1500 and 800 BCE, feature flying deer in high relief and often hunters with bows and arrows, chasing deer.
