Patriotic Martyr Monument

The Patriotic Martyr Monument, commemorating the thousands of Koreans who died for the cause of national independence, in Seodaemun Independence Park; it is built on the site of the former Seoul Guchiso (Detention Camp) that was used to imprison thousands of Korean independence activists until the liberation from the Japanese occupation on 15 August 1945.
