Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty

Jeonneung, Samreung Gongwon

Jeonneung, the royal tomb of King Jeongjong, the 11th ruler of the Joseon dynasty, who ruled from 1506 to 1544 He succeeded his half-brother, Yeonsangun, because of the latter's tyrannical misrule, which culminated in a coup placing Jungjong on the throne. The tomb is in Samreung Gongwon, in the heart of Gangnam-gu.
