Harubang statue

A Harubang (stone grandfather statue) in Seongeup Folk Village. Traditionally, the phallic shaped Tol-Harubang are gods offering both protection and fertility. These ancient statues were placed outside of gates for protection against evil spirits. They were also once called “Beoksumeori”.
