Incheon Metropolitan City (current)

Incheon's city emblem is created by taking the first Han'gul (Korean) letter in its name, shaped like a small circle “o” and the Hanja (Chinese) character meaning “river” from the City's name (literally “kind river”) and the shape of waves as the main motif. It represents endless motion and unlimited potential: a symbol of the trade city where goods, services, and information are exchanged through the port and airport and a simple illustration of the future of Incheon in the 21st century as a gateway to the world.
