Deoksugung Palace, Seoul

Daehanmun, Deoksugung

Daehanmun, the main gate of Deoksugung Palace, moved to the present site in 1970. just inside the gate is Geumcheongyo Bridge, which was excavated and restored in 1986. All who entered had to cross over a stream just inside the gate, symbolically purifying themselves before entering the palace grounds, as in other Korean palaces.
