Medici chapel

The tomb of Giuliano di Lorenzo de' Medici, Duke of Nemours (1479 - 1516), in the Sagrestia Nuova (New Sacristy); this was intended as a mausoleum or mortuary chapel with tombs for members of the Medici family, but only two were built. Giuliano's tomb is ornamented with his statue and the sculptures “Night” and “Day”, by Michelangelo (1520).
