Grenada, island nation in the Caribbean

Old police barracks

The police barracks on Melville Street in St. George's, during the time of the Marxist government. The flags are the national flag of Grenada above the party flag of the New Joint Endeavor for Welfare, Education, and Liberation, or New JEWEL Movement, a Marxist-Leninist vanguard party that was eventually deposed by the US military after its invasion in 1983. In the background the tower of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, that was devastated during Hurricane Ivan in September 2004.
