School children, Santiago de Cuba

School children with their teachers on a tour of the site of the former Saturnino Lora Civil Hospital, that was stormed by revolutionaries on 26 July 1953. It is now part of the Parque Histórico Abel Santamaría, dedicated to Abel Santamaría Cuadrado (1927 – 1953), a leader in the Cuban Revolutionary movement, who, after the failure of the attack, was imprisoned and murdered after being tortured by police.
