View to Cristo de La Habana

View across the Bahia de La Habana, to Cristo de La Habana (Christ of Havana), a large sculpture of white Carrara marble, representing Jesus of Nazareth on a hilltop overlooking the bay in Havana. It is the work of the Cuban sculptor Jilma Madera, who won the commission for it in 1953. It was was inaugurated on La Cabaña hill on 24 December 1958. The statue is about 20 metres high, including a 3-metre base.
