Previous Thursday Island, the ''capital'' of the Torres Strait Islands

Thursday Island as seen from the wharf of Horn Island. Horn Island, or Narupai, is where the airport is situated and there is therefore frequent ferry and ''water-taxi'' transport between the two islands.
