Tennant Creek region, Northern Territory

Devils Marbles

Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles) south of Tennant Creek, a must see along the Stuart Highway. The site is of great ceremonial significance to the Aboriginal people, but people are free to wander around. This huge boulder was sliced in half by alternate heating and cooling, a dramatic illustration of heat erosion.
