Aboriginal Ceremonies of Central Australia - Jardiwanpa

Dance with boomerang

Two men, belonging to the Jupurrula subsection, dance with a “karli” (boomerang) and a “kurdiji”, (wooden shield) painted with the dreaming design relevant to their clan and the song cycle followed during a “Jardiwanpa” ceremony in Lajamanu. Women with “kuturu” fighting sticks are dancing behind them.
