“Pukumani Poles 1986” by Tiwi artist Bede Tungatalum from Wurrumiyanga (Nguiu, Bathurst Island), synthetic polymer paint on cotton, displayed in the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. The artist has depicted himself within this work, painting Pukumani poles for an upcoming ceremony. It was named the winner of the Peter Stuyvesant Cultural Foundation Award in 1986.
