Mosque of the Bachelors

The Xhamia e Beqarëve (Mosque of the Bachelors) was built in 1827 for use of the unmarried shop assistants in the town below the citadel in the picturesque town of Berat (Berat). It is noteworthy for its wall paintings. In the background the typical houses that have given Berat its name of “City of 1000 windows”.
